Care & Use

How do I care for my knife?
All of our knives are Carbon Steel Damascus and are susceptible to rust if left wet. If your knife does get wet, don’t worry—it won’t be damaged. Simply dry it thoroughly, apply a light coat of oil, and leave it out of the sheath. Depending on the humidity in your area, you may need to oil your knife a few times a year to keep it in top condition.
One key tip: never store your knife in its sheath long-term. The sheath can trap moisture, leading to rust. Keeping your knife dry and properly maintained will ensure it stays sharp and ready for years to come.
How do I use my Knife?
A knife is designed for one purpose—cutting! It should never be used as a hammer, screwdriver, pry bar, or chisel. While it’s understandable to use a knife for unconventional tasks in an emergency, any damage caused is not the knife’s fault. If used solely as a cutting tool, your knife can last a lifetime. Our knives can be sharpened like any other blade, but we recommend touching them up regularly. Due to the hardness of our knives, restoring them from very dull to razor sharp can be challenging, so frequent maintenance will help keep your edge in peak condition.
